In Alfred Hitchcock’s 'Rear Window' a ballet dancer is seen rehearsing in a tiny flat adjacent to the scene of the main narrative of the movie. She is dressed in a simple leotard and jumper. To the audience she seems a sad and isolated figure.
So here I have decided to transform her - still in the flat, but dressed to take the stage and warming up for the first entrance. Maybe the black cat has provided the magic for this transformation. We will never know.
This edition of 9 lino reduction prints was made at the BIP print studios in Kemp Town, Brighton. It is printed on Fabriano Artistico mould laid cotton paper using a Columbian printing press which dates to the 1840s.
